Hello Todd, as usual great read! I don't believe in luck, they were either good enough to win or Detroit was. In this case Detroit was. Hopefully they win one of the next two at least, and Hall comes back soon. Haven't lost faith in this year, but confidence is certainly waning due to strength within this division.

The devils have looked slow and out of sync lately their passing and puck battling has been horrendous and is a major reason why they have been losing, not sure what’s happened since the start of the new year but unless Hynes finds a way to fix it they will not be making the post season for a 6th straight season

Thank you! I do agree the Devils didn't play well enough to take luck out of the equation but I do think they got the better of the chances. They were by no means great, though. There's a lot of room for improvement.

Might not have mattered since Schneider can't score goals for the team too.

DOOOOMED!!!!!

Once Cory started to let at least 4 goals per game that's when all this begins. At the start of the season, we all remember how good he was. Every game he has 1 fluke goal.
He gives no support to the forwards. They know that they can not relying on goali. Need to keep scoring. We always pretty much having up the lead. Can not protect goal or two. Anyways it's starts with Cory.

If Buffalo and Arizona play .500 hockey (longshot) they will end around 79 points.

If we go 10-26 over our last 36 (possible) we will end with 76 points.

Point being we still have a legitimate shot to pick in the bottom 5

I’m normally pretty aligned with your blogs Todd, but not this one.

It was a bad game. Sure, they had some chances that they didn’t convert on, but they still didn’t do nearly enough to create havoc in front of the net, the P.P. was bad - all 5 of them, Cory letting in another bad goal, (almost allowed 4 again) - and it all adds up to the culmination of the night - a player’s only, closed-door, meeting. So, it seems they think this was more than just some bad luck, too.

Unfortunately, the team doesn’t appear ready or willing to play the way they have to play to win in the NHL for more than a handful of games at a time.

I’m not saying the team is a disaster, but I think this particular blog is understating this team’s woes.
